The name Jawa Unyu Zigyosha was changed to Djawatan Pengangkoetan, while Zidosha Sokyoku was transformed into Djawatan Angkoetan Darat. The two companies were finally merged on 24 November 1946 and become known as DAMRI. Since that moment, DAMRI had undergone many transformations. DAMRI was once the State Company General Management Agency BPUPN in 1961. When BPUPN was abolished in 1965, DAMRI was transformed into a Government Company PN. In a further development, DAMRI became a Public Company Perum in 1984. The status was later completed with the government regulation PP No. 31 Year 2002.
